The music is half of what made this game so epic. It just ramped up the intensity on every level. Whether it was creepy, dangerous, grand, mysterious, explosive or somber. Everything was alive in Parasite Eve.
got part 1 and 2 original for ps1 on my shelf and now i am itching to play them again
Ah I 'member this game. It missed the mark and hit it at the same time on so many levels. Maybe if they'd decided to make the bad guy something other than grumpy mitochondria...

It's a shame that no one talks about this game, from my point of view. Like every time people always talks about final fantasy, chrono trigger, and persona mainly when it comes down to JRPGS. There should be a remake of this game, or a re release on steam or Xbox live and psn.
+MST R It is on PSN, this and PE2 are PSOne Classics. But I agree, they need to give this a full rebuild, like with FF7.

There was like a third game no one heard about I don't like what happened to Aya though. A reboot or something would be cool.
One of the best themes of all time It gets you pumped up to play it but at the same time comes off as foreboding, as if to you warn you that you're about jump into some heavy shit
now that's a real game great game play, story, graphic, characters, weapon, monsters and sound tracks I play this game for the story (reason number 1 ) I think I finished it 7 times all ready Parasite Eve 2 is ok, 3rd birthday is a shame

I wish I could get the bonus disc so I could try Xenogears out. I hear Xenogears was a great game and controlling a mecha sounds cool in a RPG. I liked Xenosaga EP 1 and want to play the rest of the series kind of like when I played Chrono Cross and wanted to play Chrono Trigger. I'm so glad that I eventually played CT even though it was on PSX(load times suck)! Square needs to make another one IMO. Heard it was gonna be called Chrono Break or something I'm not entirely sure.
I'll never get rid of this game. I've yet to traverse the skyscraper and see the other ending though. It was sweet how you could upgrade your weapons with fire and such. The story is so intriguing and hearing about Mitochondria and science stuff is cool. The T-Rex coming alive was awesome in the museum and the FMVs were frickin' sweet!
Mitochondria (the power houses of the cell) have their own DNA. In this game they "wake up" and kill people and mutate things. I recommend playing the game. I believe it's on psn and it's really good if you like ps one rpgs. Also check out mitochondrial eve on wikipedia.

@NorseViking84 you should see crysis 2, spiderman WOS, Prototype, freedom fighter etc etc.. first thing these games show is.. NYC collapsing..
@NorseViking84 Actually, I think the US is pretty well past that. Yeah games like Propeller Arena got canned because the twin towers were in it etc. but look at Crysis 2 that just came out. Hell, the Statue of Liberty is pretty much gone in that game, but no complaints. Lots of games have NYC getting blown up and destroyed, it's a popular setting. I think that sort of paranoia is largely in the past, with some exceptions. You won't see planes crashing into skyscrapers anytime soon for instance.
@Frieza102 This is just my assumption, but I'm guessing, if approached with the question of re-mastering PE, you would be told "Due to the fact that many of New York's iconic buildings are destroyed or deformed some way in this game we feel it highly insensitive to re-master this game out of respect of the victims of 9/11." Unfortunately, I don't think my assuption is too far off either. Shame...it's a wonderful game.

Of all the survival horror games i have ever played, this one is one the scariest because the bad thing the player is fighting is something that is inside every person and animal on the planet, and something that they can't live without.
I loved this song. But does anyone remember the (US) commercial for this game? I'll never forgot that awesome chanting they had in that! I was so hoping that song would be in the game, but oh well... There were plenty of other gems in here!

Yeah, there a lot of great games that could be remade that aren't :( In fact, releasing XP instead of Vista again would bag them A LOT of money, but the thickheads won't even consider it, morons :(

Seriously, between this, and Resident Evil, and Silent Hill, you'd think they were all attending "how to suck audiences in and freak them the FUCK out" courses in college. And can we hurry up and get Parasite Eve remastered for either PS3 or a portable system? I mean c'mon, you can remaster ninety-eleven final fantasies, but not this fucking DIAMOND? This game, I've heard the music before and I love it, but I never played it.. I wanted to, when I watched this movie tough. Up until a dinosaur's bones started moving by themselves. That's just plain stupid? :(

Brings back memories... yeah this is another good one! I spent so many hours playing this game. Having to traverse several floors of the skyscraper at the end was was very frustrating.
