I remember I couldn't wait to get this game at the time....one thing I never expected was the transition to this act and theme....man o man my mind was truely blown. Sonic and mega man will always have the best VG themes in my opinion
I listen to a Higher quality audio file verison. but they still both sound good even by today's standards. no other game can top this! Even if it's so similar to mega man.
Oh god I loved this game. This was my favorite part of it, too... I always felt like a badass as a kid when I was dashing along that train. Although I was never a giant fan of the level, I also really enjoyed the Meta Junglira music from this one.

only on sega master/game gear version & no its not just N.america but also europe & japan as well. the genesis/mega drive version had the basic robotnik from sonic 1,2, & 3. well except he's kinda little off in the game but still. also the genesis/mega drive version is more based on the sonic SATAM or the comic series while the master system/game gear version is more based on the AOSTH series.
I think the American version of Sonic Spinball also used AoStH Robotnik too on the cover of the game, not too sure. It was definately one version though.

Sonic Generations is the best Sonic game since the Genesis. Really fun game, great graphics, and high replay value because of the numerous challenge stages. The sidescrolling stages play out well in 3D.
Man fang was supposed to be in sonic extreme(unreleased saturn game)

*Sigh.* This song...I only got this game LAST MONTH...and already I adore this song. This is my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE SONG. Hence why this is immediately favorited.
sonic generations is actually pretty good.only downfall is that modern sonic had more boss battles.

@mustpickname To be fair, it wasn't what Colors started fixing so much as what Unleashed started fixing - while the Night stages in Unleashed were terrible, the day stages are what Generations' Modern stages are closest to in terms of design and play, and really did mark a turning point for the series. Either way, yes, SupraDarky, go play Generations or at least go get the soundtrack because oh my god.

@SupraDarky Don't shut out the 3DS version either. It offers an experience different from the console versions, plus it's own unique level list.

I have this song as a micspam. It's fucking great. My favorite song from any games on the Game Gear, hands down. :D
@crazy4guitar3000 Too bad most people don't hear it, most of the bosses in S2GG are the hardest in the series.
Took you long enough =D This was the anthem of my childhood... the only portable game system I was allowed to have as a kid was that GameGear, but I loved that thing like a brother.
I am currently downloading all of Supradarky's videos in mp3 form. It's been 2 days and I'm only at 40% I currently can't play any games on my computer, or else my shitty computer might explode. But it's all gonna be worth it when i fill my ipod with 1000 awesome video game music.

@Arc13 mighty was most likely dropped due to him and shadow having a similar apperance also in generations it says he's been missing since 1993 so i'm guessing sega is choosing to ignore knuckles chaotix... not that i blame em also game gear was awesome :3 i nostalgia'd hard at this... just wish it didn't eat through 6 AA batteries in only 3 hours X3 i was only about 7 i couldn't afford that!

Good lord, why did they ever get rid of Fang? Worse yet, why'd they replace him with Rouge? I don't buy that whole "fang was too vampiric" argument of theirs, considering Rouge is every single definition of vampiric. Vampire Bat, bossy, manipulative, cunning, using charms to get her way. Fang just a big tooth, so what? Knuckles has FANGS FOR GOD'S SAKE and they kept him! On said note, what happened to Mighty? They kept Charmy, but left out Mighty? Again, what gives?
@SupraDarky Highly suggest it. I cleared it quickly, but that's not where the vast meat exists, it's in actually completing everything. (Plus it's Sonic, everything's gonna be quick). It admittingly doesn't pay as much tribute to the past as it lets on(only classic characters are Sonic, Tails, and Robotnik). With only the first 3 genesis games covered. Still nice to make up for a lot of the other games by making same levels, but vastly improved. Loads of nostalgia, loads of fun, go get it.

Ahhh I totally had this game for GameGear, it was awesome! I never owned a Genesis, so this was my first Sonic game. So many memories...

@GameMasterGuy ...invincibility is flying as Modern Sonic, which is pretty useless and eats rings like there's no tomorrow.
@SupraDarky It's the best Sonic ever, and I've played them all, spinoffs aside (though I have played plenty of them). Only three problems: 1) It's short. As in, 4 hour short. 100%ing is taking much longer though, as there's 10 red rings and 10 challenge missions per level. 2) Final boss sucks. It's not hard, just boring and doesn't explain itself very well gameplay wise. 3) Super Sonic sucks. It's barely faster than Sonic with a couple speed upgrades, and its only special ability besides...
And suddenly this VGM list has become inspiring again. Seems like the music on the Sonic Game Gear games is very underrated, there are great classics like Scrap Brain and Labyrinth Zone, both miles ahead of their 16 bit counterparts...
Sonic Colors is actually referenced when Sonic implies that it's no stranger than saving aliens from an interstellar amusement park.
Generations rules. Try it when you can.
Underrated Sega game, and the debut of Fang the Sniper. Fang needs to be in more games!

Fixes most of my gripes with Colours, except that it's still quite short. Also, the PC port is kind of ass unless you have a controller.

Unless my memory is playing tricks on me, this is the first GameGear entry in this list. This game is also known as Sonic & Tails 2 in Japan. So for anyone who's played it, how's Sonic Generations ? I've heard good things about it, just like with Sonic Colors.
